Two Ways to Avoid the Trash in Email Marketing

Think about all the spam emails we receive with a subject line that screams at us in all caps or ones that are just full of nonsense. With supporters’ emails filling up quickly, we need to make our messages stand out and personal.

A great way to encourage recipients to open our messages is to craft a great subject line. There’s a plethora of ways we can do this too. Subject lines can be exciting, specific, urgent, compelling, useful, emotional, shocking or funny. With only a few seconds to nab supporters’ attention, the subject line needs to deliver and quickly.

But most importantly, don’t mislead them. Our subject lines need to directly relate and be truthful to the email’s message. Don’t be a jerk about it.
