Maintaining a good relationship with our donors is important: they’re the lifeblood of our organizations.
And just like in any kind of relationship, it’s important to take time to develop the relationship, not just view our donors as ATMs. Asking for money shouldn’t be the only time our donors hear from us, and we shouldn’t focus exclusively on big-ticket donors: every relationship counts!
Instead, we need to thank our donors and non-donors alike, and continually develop our rapport. A long-term relationship requires a little back and forth and listening to one another.
