At the Intentional Catalyst, we believe that every organization and individual has the power to change. To walk that journey with you, we’re home to the Catalyst Collective, a network of consultants who guide and nurture change for nonprofits and foundations that desire equitable, compassionate, transparent, and lasting community impact. Led by our Chief Changemaker, Tamela A. Spicer, M.A., curiosity, discovery, and codesign are at the heart of our work.
After several years in the business sector, Tamela pursued her passion for community impact and justice as a regional development director for The Salvation Army, regional director for the Arthritis Foundation, and as senior program manager at the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University where she also taught in the master’s program. Specializing in strategic doing and thinking, philanthropic advising, storytelling, and change management, Tamela leads the Catalyst Collective, building a team that best meets the needs of each client to help:
· Organizations design and implement a strategic framework. We walk alongside you to build a more equitable culture in the boardroom or among staff, while increasing your capacity for community impact.
· Organizations plan and navigate change due to executive transition, board leadership change, or organizational growth.
· Foundations provide meaningful capacity building programs and training for grantees. We offer customized CEO retreats, fundraising bootcamp, peer coaching groups, and so much more to meet the capacity building needs of foundation grantees.
